Bulletin 1:

1.        Early payment, and notification of your intention to enter is essential and will be appreciated so that the relevant organizational arrangements can be made, e.g. number of tugs, amount of fuel, no. of tow ropes, etc. that will be required.

2.        As always, we would like to have some keen and eager volunteers to assist with some of the tasks, in order to spread the load.

3.        Competing pilots should have their own crew member, if at all possible.  It is not fair to expect the handful of those who are crewing, to run around for all those of you who do not have crew.  Please ask around at your own Clubs for anyone who is willing to be at the Nationals to assist both you and the organization.  Those of you with NO CREW, may be charged an additional amount (up to R500 extra), so that we can arrange, if possible, & pay for some helpers.

4.        Gliders carrying water are advised that they should NOT dump water on the scale. They must go-around and join the queue again having dumped the water off the scale.

5.        Requirements for the S.African licence validations for overseas competitors will be forwarded to you on request. Cost thereof R500.00.

6.        Ensure you have an FAI competitor’s license for 2013 (R150.00) as this is a requirement for the Nationals.

7.        Camping is possible on the airfield at no charge, and there are numerous Bed & Breakfasts establishments in Welkom – by choice, you want to select on the western side of town which is closer to the airfield.

8.        There will be the same catering arrangements at the airfield as in the past and the same Contest officials:

Contest Director:          Ian Buchanan                      Safety Officer:   Laurens Goudriaan
