Someone has pointed out to me that it should now be possible to land in the river some distance away and drift into the finish circle.

The local paper had a report on the event with some photos and also reported that Bill Mudge was very excited and dancing around like a kid in a lolly shop. So today at briefing they gave him a lolly.

A better day is forecast today with climbs to 9000'. The max is forecast to be 37C at Renmark with a trigger temp of 29C needed. David Wilson has predicted a sea breeze at 6.50pm.

A task is 536km for the big wings and 446km for the rest. Lots of pilots commenting s**t that's in NSW as they mark up their maps.

Yesterday a penalty was awarded to a pilot in Standard class for unsafe flying. The penalty has been protested and the protest committee will sit tomorrow.
